Hofstra Law Recognizes Marissa Pullano Among Outstanding Women In Law.

Jaspan Schlesinger LLP announced today that Marissa J. Pullano, a Partner in the firm’s Matrimonial & Family Law Practice Group, has been selected as one of the region’s Outstanding Women in Law by the Hofstra University Maurice A. Deane School of Law.

“We are extremely proud that Hofstra Law has recognized Marissa’s leadership in the field of family law and her commitment to community,” said Steven R. Schlesinger, Managing Partner, Jaspan Schlesinger.

In the Family Law practice group, Pullano represents clients in complex divorce matters, including the distribution of substantial real property and assets, child support and maintenance, custody and visitation, shared parenting, order modifications and enforcement, and the valuation and distribution of businesses and professional practices.

Pullano has been recognized as a Rising Star in the Super Lawyer rankings since 2014.  A community advocate, she co-founded a Young Lawyers for Literacy Campaign while practicing law in Florida.  The literacy initiative continues to promote early childhood education in public schools serving some of the most underserved communities in South Florida.  Pullano is also active in fundraising efforts on behalf of the National PKU Alliance whose mission is to improve the lives of individuals living with PKU and to pursue a cure.

Marissa is a graduate of The Catholic University of America with a degree in Social Work, and sits on that school’s Alumni Association Board of Governors.  She received a Juris Doctor from Nova Southeastern University, Shephard Broad College of Law, and is admitted to practice law in the State Courts of New York and Florida. She is also a member of the Collaborative Family Law Institute and The New York Family Law American Inn of Court.

Outstanding Women in Law is hosted annually by Hofstra to celebrate women who have made meaningful and inspiring contributions to the legal community. This year’s recipients are being honored at an April 22 event hosted by Judge Gail Prudenti, Dean of Hofstra Law.
