Ed Grimmett concentrates his practice in education law, labor and employment law, and municipal law. He provides both general and labor counsel to school districts and public libraries. In his role as labor counsel, Ed advises clients in connection with negotiations, contract administration and matters concerning employment and antidiscrimination laws. He also represents clients at employee disciplinary hearings and in proceedings before the Public Employment Relations Board.
Ed’s general counsel experience includes advice on policy development, fiscal management, election issues, student discipline, residency issues, drafting and negotiating agreements, and appeals before the Commissioner of Education and State Review Office. In addition, he regularly reviews agendas, prepares resolutions and attends board meetings to keep the client apprised of all legal matters.
