David E. Paseltiner


David E. Paseltiner is a partner in the Firm’s Corporate and Commercial Transactions Practice Group,  its Banking and Financial Services Practice Groupand its Not-For-Profit Corporations Practice Group. Mr. Paseltiner has extensive experience in a broad range of sophisticated commercial matters, including representing both borrowers and lenders in complex financial transactions; in structuring, negotiating and implementing mergers, acquisitions and divestitures; in negotiating and drafting employment and compensation agreements and agreements among shareholders, partners and limited liability company members; and in other corporate, commercial and real estate transactions. Mr. Paseltiner has represented businesses in numerous industries, ranging in size from small start-up operations to publicly traded corporations and has been recognized in Long Island Business News’ “Who’s Who in Corporate Law.”

Prior to joining Jaspan Schlesinger LLP in 2000, Mr. Paseltiner was a name partner in a prestigious Nassau County law firm, where he handled a wide variety of corporate, commercial and real estate matters.

Mr. Paseltiner received his Juris Doctor degree in 1988 from the Hofstra University School of Law, where he was a published editor of the Law Review and received an award for excellence in real estate, and received his Bachelor of Arts degree in 1985 from Boston University. His law review article has been cited by the Supreme Courts of the States of Massachusetts, Wisconsin and Wyoming, the United States Court of Appeals and by several law review and other scholarly articles.

Mr. Paseltiner is admitted to practice law in the State of New York and in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York. He is currently a member of the American Bar Association, the New York State Bar Association, the Nassau County Bar Association and the American Counsel Association.

In 2015 and 2016, Long Island Pulse Magazine named Mr. Paseltiner as a “Legal Eagle” in the field of corporate and business law. In addition, Mr. Paseltiner has lectured frequently on shareholder agreements and limited liability company operating agreements.

In addition to his professional activities, Mr. Paseltiner is a member of the Board of Directors of the EAC Network (where he was formerly Chairman of the Board) and of Long Island Cares, the Harry Chapin Food Bank (where he was formerly Board President). He is a former member of the Board of Directors of the Long Island Region of the American Heart Association and the Long Island Region of the March of Dimes. Mr. Paseltiner was honored by Touro Law Center as one of its Outstanding Pro-Bono Attorneys for 2006 and by the Education and Assistance Corporation at its 3rd Annual “Celebrating Children” Party.

Mr. Paseltiner was honored for his 20 years of service as a member of the Board of Directors of the EAC Network and was named counsel to EAC’s Board of Directors, and was recently named a 2019 NY Metro Area Super Lawyer in Business and Corporate Law.
