Joan M. Gibbons Quinn, is a Partner to the Firm's Tax Certiorari and Condemnation Law Group. Ms. Quinn concentrates her practice in the representation of major property owners and tenants in all aspects of tax certiorari and condemnation law. Immediately prior to joining the Firm, Ms. Quinn was designated as the Principal Law Clerk to the Justice assigned to the Tax Certiorari Part of the Supreme Court Nassau County. Apart from presiding over these cases, the Justice along with Ms. Quinn, members of Petitioner’s Bar, the County and the State Court System developed and were instrumental in implementing procedures for both this Part and Small Claims Assessment Review. Upon re-entering private practice, Ms. Quinn has served on the Nassau County Bar Association Tax Certiorari and Condemnation Law Committee in assisting the revamping of Court Rules in this specialized area of practice. In addition, she brings with her years of experience in myriad areas of Civil as well as Criminal law having served as Law Clerk to various Judges and Justices of the New York State Court System and in solo practice. Ms. Quinn is also a member of the Nassau County Women’s Bar Association, the Nassau County Law Secretaries Association, Co-Chair of the Garden City Community Council on Substance Abuse and Violence Prevention and is Area Media Coordinator for Samaritan’s Purse, Operation Christmas Child. Ms. Quinn earned her undergraduate degree from the State University of New York at Stony Brook and her Juris Doctor from Hofstra University School of Law. She is admitted to practice law in the State of New York and the United States Districts Courts, Eastern and Southern Districts of New York.
