John May is of counsel in the Firm's Corporate and Commercial Transactions Practice Group and its Banking and Financial Services Practice Group. Mr. May has experience in a broad range of matters, including representing both issuers and underwriters in public and private offerings through registered offerings, private placements, acquisition financings, rights offerings and cross-border transactions in addition to representations on private equity and venture capital transactions and advising on general corporate and securities matters. Prior to joining Jaspan Schlesinger LLP, Mr. May was a senior associate at a prestigious New York City law firm, where he handled a variety of corporate and securities matters. Prior to law school, Mr. May was a senior manager in the assurance and advisory services department of a major international accounting firm and he is a C.P.A.. Mr. May received his J.D. and M.B.A. degrees in 2000 from Duke University’s School of Law and the Fuqua School of Business, respectively. Mr. May was a senior editor of the Duke Journal of Comparative & International Law. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree and Master of Arts degree in Economics from Hunter College. Mr. May is admitted to practice law in New York and Connecticut. In addition to his professional activities, Mr. May is a Member of the
Boards of Trustees and the Finance Committees of Our Lady of Victory
Academy and St. Catharine’s Academy.
